iron america, which has the north american rights for cup of tea
records, with a slightly modified version of the tempesta album
released in England in 1996. fans of the bristol bands like
portishead and massive attack will find this a perfect fit as it
features the luvly vocals of helen white floating above a mesh of
beats, samples, percussion and occasional live trumpet.
although tracks 02 and 11 on this version are very nice, i prefer
the over all sound of the original tempesta release which seems to
have a better feel about it.
in case you're curious, the tracks appearing on tempesta ii that
were not on tempesta are 02 10 and 11 while the tracks on tempesta
but not on tempesta ii are 04 "so close" and 10 "in our own dub/
jack laid bare". track 12 on tempesta ii seems to be a reprise or
perhaps radio edit of "free to choose, hard to be".
