▐█ █ coming into play on june 1st 2007, SBD Livesets will only █ █▌
▐█ █ be allowed when they are VBR encoded. Also, to make █ █▌
▐█ █ matters worse, ANY SBD sets broadcast at 160kbit or higher █ █▌
▐█ █ aren't allowed! We at MAAP regret the fact that we weren't █ █▌
▐█ █ invited into MP3 council group to discuss these new █ █▌
▐█ █ release rules. Some of these changes have big impact on █ █▌
▐█ █ our work as livegroups and thefore we can't support it. █ █▌
▐█ █ With MAAP we want to make a stance against these new █ █▌
▐█ █ release rules. █ █▌
▐█ █ █ █▌
▐█ █ MAAP believes the anti-SBD rule is a drastic one. The new █ █▌
▐█ █ rule is meant to fight against fake releases, but we all █ █▌
▐█ █ know that this rule will in fact also nuke high quality █ █▌
▐█ █ SBD sets from many excellent radio stations, DJ's and █ █▌
▐█ █ producers. We believe these great sets should be shared █ █▌
▐█ █ with the scene and therefore deserve a proper release. █ █▌
▐█ █ █ █▌
▐█ █ We livegroups DO NOT CONDONE reencoding or any other fake █ █▌
▐█ █ practices and of course MAAP also believes it's vital to █ █▌
▐█ █ ban fake releases, but we all know there are other good █ █▌
▐█ █ ways to do this.The music business itself, DJ's, █ █▌
▐█ █ producers, and radio stations, are the main source for █ █▌
▐█ █ these quality SBD sets, and their encoding standard is CBR █ █▌
▐█ █ only, just like what you get with WEB releases. This is █ █▌
▐█ █ their standard that they use and without their releases, █ █▌
▐█ █ the whole scene is going to suffer. █ █▌
