Simbad and Fred McQuinn aka Marathon Men are now back, following up
their last Gamm 12" "Sweet Exorcist" which went down a treat here
in the shop. Just like the previous one itÆs all about the deeper
and jazzier aspects of house and two cuts that will stand strong on
any platform. "Stay Here" is a tribute to the late Nina Simone and
is good as you can get it in the field of end of the night tunes.
It's a jazzy house affair with Nina Simone's inimitable vocal being
the focal point of this slow burner. "Bye Bye Babe" continues on
the same route but is much more of a bluesier. It actually sounds
like one of those killer old schools St Germain productions.
Quality stuff as always from the Marathon Men camp!
