Release Notes:
Costello was formed at the end of last year during
the Christmas/New Year period. Three mates at
college started to put together a band and realised
that they could make something out of this. Four
months on, Costello went into the studio to record a
taster EP that would allow their fans to hear their
tunes at the high quality they deserve. The band is
always touring and has fastly become known around
Preston and the surrounding areas.
Catchy, dance-able bass lines, and super tight
drumming, underpinning melodic, indie style,
power-pop anthems, gritty, witty lyrics and choruses
so catchy, they should come with a health
warningà.this is Costello. 'They take the British
tradition of Davies/Weller/Albarn songcraft, and
make their own unique sound.' Within weeks of
performing our first gigs, we found ourselves with a
large local following, and the strange experience of
crowds of people singing along to songs that only
sprang to life a few weeks previously ! Our songs
are a return to the proper 'pop' song which was
hi-jacked somewhere in 1996 by goose-stepping
industry moguls.
