often soloprojects of bandleaders start just with a 4-track tape
recorder, like a secret rule they turn introverted. this time we
talk about j.marx, formerly active with his band planet 9. it is
already a few years ago when he began doing something alone just
to find the feeling for electronic tunes, mostly by pure cut and
paste technics. but since mikki yoshimura has entered his universe
the pitchtuner idea was born within a few hours (to make it
complete, the drummer is mr. herbert).
pitchtuner - that stands for: damned dancable music created on
hard disk yet fully playable as band. this is rocking house and
dancable bleeping, experienced by all three band musicians.
pitchtuner got this latent feeling of exotic distance and not at
least these guys have a very certain sex appeal. their music is
not a stew, although they soak up influences from several musical
ports. it is more the jump out of the square of the style formats.
the totally different cultural background complements the band's
attitude.
pitchtuner is a band classically represented by drums, bass and
guitar (+additional equipment). they rock but it is definitely not
a rock band, and they urge to dance, however there is more than
just a dance a go-go. at the end it does not matter how it is
called since pop does not query set ups.
