21st Century Disco Grooves...
The debut album from two of France's rising stars. Pascal (the
producer) and Mister Day (the vocalist) found fame through the rotax
imprint. A cult twelve inch imprint that released cool
disco-influenced twelves by both Pascal and fellow Lyon-based artist
Teddy G. 'High Flying' incorporates Pascal's best moments from the
Rotax catalogue as well as some brand new material from himself and
Mister Day.
Imagine the Isley Brothers produced by Roy Davis Junior and you're on
the way to capturing the sound of 'High Flying'. Tracks like 'Curtis'
(a tribute to Curtis Mayfield) are pure Pevin Everett style genius
while cuts like 'Salvation' and 'High Flying' bring out the best in
Mr. Day's dreamy voice and Pascal's Faze Action style production. And
then there's the down-tempo delights of 'Looking For Your Smile' a
kind of slow-motion version of Maxwell in the studio with Bent. 'High
Flying' has it all.
