     This sludgy, hard-hitting rock trio from Chalmette, Louisiana, was composed
     of high school friends Al Hodge (guitar, vocals), Steve Talamo (acoustic
     guitar, keyboards, and bass), and Mark Talamo (drums, electronics).
     Originally a duo (Al and Mark), Tungsten brought in Steve for "183.85",
     their debut album on Pavement Music.
     They remained a self-sufficient trio, recording, mixing, and mastering
     their own records. With the outbreak of grunge, sludge metal went out of
     fashion for a time, and Tungsten recorded 1995's "74 LXXIV" for Sweden's
     Megarock label, while 1997's "The Tungsten Survival Kit" appeared from the
     short-lived Lighttown Records.
     After working the road for nearly four years, they re-entered the studio to
     record 2003's "The Abuse" and self-released it. Following tours of
     international music festivals, they returned in 2005 with "If Death Doesn't
     Change You Nothing Will".
