instinct for detail, tension and movement. On Four Small Escapes, he
delivers four tracks built around subtle shifts and carefully placed
moments of surprise, where intricate sound design and groove remain in
constant dialogue.
Opening with Smoke from Respawn, Marcal immediately establishes the
record's character. Syncopated rhythms, intricate percussion work and
subtle sound design details unfold within a streamlined framework,
creating a groove that feels both spacious and forward-moving. Wooden
rimshots and glassy textures interact across an open arrangement,
giving the track a fluid and trippy quality.
Arapuca shifts into darker territory while maintaining the same sense
