      It was a forbidden and therefore irresistible land. Many Western
      explorers wanted to explore Tibet and its fascinating capital, Lhasa,
      but only two men succeeded in their endeavor. In 1865, the British
      sent Nain Singh to Tibet to map the perilous mountain passes and to
      spy in Lhasa disguised as a Buddhist monk. He returned with extremely
      accurate data. Forty years later, British army officer Francis
      Younghusband managed to penetrate the forbidden city of Lhasa, thus
      putting an end to Tibet's years of isolation.
      In the bonus film, an expedition follows in the footsteps of Joseph
      Rock, the man who risked his life to explore the Konkaling Mountains
      in Western China.
