     Amazing sounds from the toolbox -- all from a man who plays
     the saw as if it were a theremin! The music here was all made
     by David Weiss by running a bow over the edge of a common saw
     -- but the resulting sound is almost electronic in nature, and
     reminds us a fair bit of some of Les Baxter's experiments with
     theremin and strings back in the 50s! Backings are by members
     of the LA Philharmonic, who shade in the tunes with more
     conventional instrumentation that nicely offset's Weiss' odd
     saw-based sounds -- and although the set was recorded in the
     80s, it's got the groovy qualities of some lost easy gem from
     the late 60s! Titles include The Swan, Misty, Yesterday,
     Habanera, Gymnopedie, Arioso, and Scharborough Fair.
