Release Notes:
Bishop Allen have dished out info on their second
album, The Broken String. The follow-up to 2003Æs
Charm School will be released on July 24th courtesy
of Dead Oceans. Since the release of Charm School,
singer Justin Rice has been refining his acting
chops. He was the lead in director Andrew
BujalskiÆs 2005 film Mutual Appreciation. Rice and
band member Christian Rudder also had roles in
BujalskiÆs previous film, 2002Æs Funny Ha Ha.
In 2006, Bishop Allen released 12 EPs (one for each
month). Nine of the songs on The Broken String are
re-worked from the EPs, but these versions are
reportedly far more developed, considering that the
band were limited by deadlines when originally
working on the tracks. Click here to listen to the

announcing a July/August tour with Page France and
