       "Here's an odd one - coming from California and named after a
       wrestler's gimmick (he would spray the word arrogance on
       himself), the last thing you'd expect is that the band would be
       making destructively pretty dreampop. I'm hardly complaining
       though, and until the Sundays manage to write another album (it
       might happen!) we've got to take whatever we can get. The
       Sundays are actually quite an appropriate reference, as The
       Arrogants' singer Jana Heller sounds remarkably like Harriet
       Weeler, and that's no bad thing. Her vocal tones carry the songs
       perfectly into the realms of blissful pop excess, and when I'm
       listening to indie music I can't imagine anything more lovely. I
       really do have a soft spot for this record (which is actually
       two cds long!) and although it might not be anything
       particularly new, the era of music that it has based itself on
       will always have a big place in my heart. Female fronted music
       of the late 80s and early 90s, I'm talking Belly, Throwing
       Muses, the Breeders, Lush - basically the sort of pop music that
       makes you happy to be alive. Clearly these Californians have a
       similar love for the good things in life, and this love and
       respect for the music comes across very well indeed. If anything
       my only problem with 'You've always known when best to say
       Goodbye' is that it's a little long, at 2CDs there's just too
       much material to consume, but then that's a small complaint
       considering it costs the same as a single album. Check it!"
