Rising Norwegian force, Anders Hajem makes his debut solo release on
Snick Snack under his deep house alias, Source of Nature. Anders has
been a fixture in the Norwegian club scene for over ten years, first
drawing attention with Boring Crew Records. A label and collective
he runs with his friends Perkules and Henrik Villard, a crew known
for their love of the deep, tribal sounds. Under the Source of
Nature alias Anders explores his love for the mechanical and driving
house sound coming out of NYC in the nineties, thru labels such as
Wave, King Street, Nervous, Strictly Rhythm and Yoshitoshi, but
adding his own flavours and studio wizardry to the mix, delivering
three gorgeous pieces of timeless house music, perfect for the
summer season.
Opener and tittle track "Chemistry" shows Anders' knack for that
quintessential house sound and with its lush strings and classic
piano chords we are sure it will be the closing track of many DJ
sets this summer. Flowing in the same vein is the beautiful "Free",
full of magical E-strings, chugging beats and chords washing over
you like warm, breaking ocean waves. Closing track "Roots" goes deep
and hypnotic and down a darker route without losing track of the
funk. Source of Nature's "Chemistry" shows a producer on top of his
game, with a deep connection to the past, but with his eyes firmly
set on the future.
