As a group, White Light Riot consists of four guys who love and
greatly enjoy music; WLR is brothers Mike and Mark Schwandt, Joe
Christenson and Dan Larsen. As friendly as they are inspired, they
will tell you everything about the bands that have shaped their
sound. On a deeper level, they are incredibly talented musicians
who together craft wonderful songs and create an energetic live
show. Even though they have been compared to Coldplay and Franz
Ferdinand, those who really know WLR embrace their truthful ode to
be original, expertly mixing indie rock and British pop with their
favorite artists of the past. The foursome have only been playing
together a few years, but have already released two EPs under the
direction of recognized producers (The Dark Is Light Enough EP,
produced by Tapes 'N Tapes' Erik Appelwick; Out of Sight EP,
produced by Brent Sigmeth), and now their first LP, titled
Atomism. With their sophisticated lyrics, thoroughly perfected
melodies, and tight, driving rhythm section, their music is sure
to keep audiences engaged AND moving. All hail from the musical
hotbed that is Minneapolis, but each has his own personality and
story.s
