"Synesthesia" is a recent release from Ultra Records that showcases
the amazing talent of US West Coast finest DJ who has had a handful of
credentials as the international progressive house player as well as
the music crafter whose sounds are so unique, inimitable and second to
none. Some say Taylor is one of the most underrated DJs, but this
compilation is going to show you why that can't be the case. After
listening to both CDs, you will find that Taylor's mixing skill is
incredibly smooth, comparable to those of superstars DJs the likes
of Sasha and Digweed.
This latest offering from Ultra Records has 2 CDs jam-packed full of
uplifting progressive bombers from the most respectable & innovative
artists in the field. Tune highlights include: one of the most amazing
tunes of the year, "Luna" ; Taylor and POB's "Today" ; Evolution's
"Main Mix" of Firewire (the Dub is featured on Lucien Foort's
Singularity 2 compilation), which is a rather superb and furious hard
and full on trance version that reflects the new sound of the Parachute
Studios. This release has a huge dancefloor appeal, intact with class
and integrity as can be demonstrated by the journey it brings you from
the beginning to the end.
In short, Taylor has done a remarkably great job in selecting and
mixing the music that's nothing short of a high-grade concoction of
ethnic percussion, uplifting vibes and jamming grooves with a hint of
depth. A must have for all progressive trance connoisseurs.
Rating: 9.5/10
