release notes:
"Wizard Tattoo creates genre-defying music that blends doom, stoner rock,
jazz, black metal and grunge. With their music, Wizard Tattoo captivates
with haunting melodies, heavy riffs, and introspective lyrics inspired by
comics, horror, and fantasy. Their DIY approach showcases their
commitment, balancing heaviness and melody for an unforgettable
experience."
Wizard Tattoo, the Indianapolis-based progressive metal project by
multi-instrumentalist Bram the Bard, returns with the compelling new
concept EP Living Just For Dying. Picking up where Fables of the Damned
left off, this release delves into the mind of an aging protagonist,
exploring themes of memory, madness, and imagination.
Building on the distinctive sound established in previous works, Living
Just For Dying combines influences from classic rock, grunge, progressive
rock, and jazz, adding a unique twist to its dark narrative. The EP
features the talents of Djinnifer, who lends her captivating vocals to
the prog rock track "The Wizard Who Loved Me," and Fausto Aurelias, who
delivers a powerful performance on the black metal song "Tomorrow Dies."
"Living Just For Dying is a wonderful piece of music that fits more ideas
and dynamic textures into it than a lot of full-length albums can offer.
This is such a different type of music that it deserves praise." - Doomed
for Metal
"Only Bram the Bard could have dreamed this. This record is unique to him
and only him. I’m having a hard time listening to much of anything else
right now because I keep finding myself to go back to finding nuances
every time I hear this record again." - Clean and Sober Stoner
"Living Just For Dying offers a hazy and muted collection of outstanding
tracks that will surprise the dedicated followers of Wizard Tattoo." -
Outlaws Of The Sun
"As creative as ever, as interesting as always, and as striking as
expected, Living Just for Dying is a really strong EP and the perfect
follow-up to Fables of the Damned." - GAMES, BRRRAAAINS & A HEAD-BANGING
LIFE
"Living Just For Dying is an interesting step for Wizard Tattoo and will
appeal to a range of rock and metal fans… Those who take the time to
listen to the music will be rewarded with a well-structured,
well-written, and well-played EP that rewards repeated listens." - Hotel
