Dessous Recordings has been a buy-on-sight label for years now - the
German imprint started by Steve Bug has grown a fierce reputation of
quality underground deep house in all its guises. Following on from
the essential Dessous Classics collections, The Classic Remixes pulls
together 17 stunning reworks that have graced the label in the last
few years - the track list reads like a whos who of the underground.
The wealth of talent is breathtaking - from the producers who have
helped define the labels sound and aesthetic - including Phonique, Two
Armadillos, Ryo Murakami, David Durango and Moodymanc - to the
exceptional remixes provided by the likes of The Revenge, Sascha Dive,
Andre Lodemann, Larry Heard, Morgan Geist, and label boss Steve Bug
himself. Each of the 17 tracks represent a slightly different take on
the Dessous vibe - from the warm and lush groove of house originator
Larry Heard who takes on Glowing Glisses On the Bridge, to
Tiefschwarzs unhinged rework of Phoniques The Red Dress. Elsewhere,
Morgan Geist works his NY magic on Phonique and Erlend Oyes
Casualties, while Djulz pulls out all the stops on his stellar take on
Andrades Face de Bouc.
Previously only available over numerous 12inches and single releases,
The Classic Remixes gives newer fans and die-hard supporters alike the
chance to enjoy the full spectrum of Dessouss extensive remix output.
Dive in and enjoy the sound of a highly influential label at the peak
of its creativity.
