A label that DJs will turn to time and time again for the fantastic
and consistently high quality vibe it creates on the dancefloor, Steve
Bugs infamous Dessous imprint continues with its classics series.
After 3 heavily supported vinyl releases celebrating some of the most
classic cuts from the Dessous back catalogue, remixed by some of
todays most sought after artists, this special digital only
compilation has been compiled so that all 12 remixes (including 2 hot
new interpretations) are available in all their crisp and clean glory.
A real whos who at the forefront of the modern house world, Steve Bug,
Kevin Yost, Vincenzo, Phonique, Gruber & Nurnberg, Manuel Tur,
Langenberg, Two Armadillos, Ripperton, Ryo Murakami and new Dessous
signing Claire Ripley all provide interpretations here, remixing
tracks picked from across the spectrum as we look back at over 10
years of label history.
This heavyweight remixes package is headed off by Steve Bugs new
version of The Discowboys ,At Midnight, a smooth modern house gem in
the making. Other stand out pieces of stereo love include the two
extra special Kevin Yost versions of Phoniques ,Teenage Love; the dub
having featured on the vinyl release, showing off his classy world-
renowned production skills.
There are so many important tracks to mention, however yet more
priceless cuts come courtesy of Manuel Tur, with his beautiful mini-
epic treatment of DJulzs ,Sulo, and Ripperton is on top form with a
unique and equally magical remix of Phonique: ,,For The Time Being
featuring the vocal talents of Erlend Oye.
Just as was the case in the original tracks, which stand the test of
time, theres depth, drama and dimension to be found amongst these

1. The Discowboys - At Midnight
Brought up to date by label boss Steve Bug, his ,Always Late Mix
strips things down to the raw essentials. Building in classic form
from a sparse swinging drum pattern, the mix evolves into a smooth
post-acid deep house summer jam.
2. Audio Soul Project: Reality Check (Vincenzo Remix)
Now its the turn of central label artist Vincenzo to offer his answer
the question ,,Why Do We Dance? Its a tough acid-inspired stomper
thats also totally modern and speaks straight to the dancing soul
within...
3. Phonique: Teenage Love (Kevin Yost Dub Remix)
Kevin Yosts Dub works quirky percussive and melodicelements from the
original into a slowly evolving pattern as Yost unleashes a masterful
array of depth charge atmospherics, funk-e bass and addictive late
night vibes.
4. Tracks And The City: I`ll Be There (Gruber & Nurnberg Remix)
Hamburg production duo Gruber & Nurnberg make their mark with a
timeless tech house approach, working tight woody percussion and
smooth chord stabs around a funky, latin inspired backbone.
5. DJulz - Sulo (Manuel Tur Remix)
A real underground favourite for its emotional content, its now been
remixed by Manuel Tur, who gives it a truly epic, storytelling re-
work.
6. Two Armadillos: Tunnel of Light (Langenberg Remix)
Taking us further into the tunnel Langenbergs remix focuses on
spacious atmospheres and pushing bass energies in this big-room room
trip. Spilling out into a submerged, dubbed out cavern this blossoming
producer is clearly on the right path.
7. Phonique: For The Time Being featuring Erlend Oye (Ripperton Remix)
Making full use of Erlends haunting vocal, Rippertons cyclic beats
wrap around our bodies and swathe us in deep-dub-house magic in this
very unique and strikingly contemporary production.
8. Innocent Lovers: Neophunk (Ryo Murakami Remix)
Tokyos Ryo Murakami remixes ,Neophunk into a totally modern deep house
excursion. Warm phasing chords float along with majesty and depth as
his typically tight beats work the floor space.
9. DJ FEX: Mysterious Conversation (Claire Ripley Remix)
Claire Ripleys version is a tight percussive led builder that pays
tribute to the originals clear cut club energy. Spooky vocal edits
dance around the post-tribal groove as this warm little bumper jacks
away into the night.
10. St. Sebastian: Dirt Bag Dirty Jay (Phonique Remix)
A mysterious tune full of tension, super-sharp production and hypnotic
electronic night-signals that will feed the deviant in you. Phoniques
on form as ever, and as with all of these remixes, does Dessous proud!
11. The Discowboys: To The Mountain Top (Two Armadillos Remix)
London duo Two Armadillos (Giles Smith & Marton Dawson) also know a
few things about house and produce a truly stunning groove led remix
that more than pays its dues to the original. A straight up essential
house cut with a delicate balance between party and precision.
12. Phonique: Teenage Love feat. Liora (Kevin Yost Remix)
The full remix by Yost, this version opens things up even more,
building on the wonderful foundations provided in his ,,Dub mix. The
Legendary US house master just wont back down!
