Greg Foat - one of the UK's premier jazz pianist-composers - continues to
refract work through the facets of his own Blue Crystal label, preferring
live-arranged soul jazz through dance music fusions. Everyone comes after
his last sonic nonagon of "blobs", moving away from that record's titleless
ethos towards a properly-chaptered, Tokyo-born chillout set. Recorded in
late September 2025 in the city, it chronicles Foat's first tour of Japan
after a commission by the clothing brand of the same name, indulging live
saxophone, choppy new age samples and digitally duplicated Balearic
percussion.
