A symphony born in a North Shields social club, Geoff Kirkwood aka Man
Power teamed with composer-arranger Fiona Brice to write this
eight-movement piece. Perhaps without the fact being realised, English
working men's clubs were an effective bastion of post-industrial socialism
     - fraternity, collective ownership, education - though Kirkwood certainly
does know it; NXS800 is an explicitly political one, and the live show saw
him price tickets on a pay-what-you-can basis. The movements collapse
expectations of high and lowbrow, particularly 'Movement 4' and its
     rainsoaked ambience.
     enjoy!
