release notes:
"Shadows Cast" is an eight-track collection revisiting the earliest
chapters of Gallóglaigh. Bringing together three songs from "Luaith" and
"Realms Unknown" and two from "Ritual", the release features all-new
mixes and masters that reveal more of the depth, weight, and atmosphere
within the original recordings.
These releases established much of what still defines Gallóglaigh: cold
melodies, raw aggression, and an atmosphere of isolation and unease.
Their rough edges belong to that history. "Shadows Cast" preserves that
character while giving the instruments greater separation, the heavier
passages more force, and the quieter details room to be heard.
Returning to these recordings means hearing familiar songs from a
different perspective. Melodies once buried beneath the guitars, textures
obscured by the original balance, and subtle details within the
arrangements come forward. The intent is to make each song feel wider,
heavier, and more immersive while remaining faithful to the performance
and mood that shaped it.
The title comes from lyrics within these early works, tying the
collection directly to its source. "Shadows Cast" carries those songs
forward with the marks of their beginnings still intact.
