Portuguese producer Deebop makes a welcome return to Piston Recordings
with the superb Matosinhos by the Sea, bringing his understated,
instinctive approach to deep house back into focus. Known for
exploring the space between ambient and techno, his sound draws on
natural textures, creating music that feels both immersive and
effortlessly smooth. His passion for deep house and house continues to
shine through, and we're delighted to have him back on board.
First up, Matosinhos by the Sea sets the mood with a deep, fluid
groove, where warm sub-bass, analogue plucks and hypnotic musical
sweeps work their magic. Lush melodic pads gradually emerge, adding
beautiful contrast to the deeper elements. Smooth, subtle and
absorbing and tailor-made for those late-night sessions. Closing out
the release, Particles of Dub shifts gears into a livelier, bouncier
groove. A dancing bassline, warm chord stabs and crisp percussion keep
things moving as intricate arpeggios and lush pads evolve throughout
the track. Effortless flow, rich textures and top-notch deep house
vibes.
