Release Notes:
The Playing Cards is a diverse four piece folk-rock
band from Winnipeg, Manitoba. The band consists of
guitarist/vocalist Cole Woods,
keyboardist/guitarist/vocalist Alannah Walker,
bassist David Schellenberg, and drummer Rob
Gardiner.
Since May of 2005, The Playing Cards have been
combining their ever-changing tastes of music.
Influenced by such artists as Neil Young, Pixies,
The Clash and Jimi Hendrix, these young musicians
have been evolving their sound since day one.
Moving from coffee shops to clubs and theatres the
band is set to release their debut album Fight
Forward on June 23rd.
Looking forward to playing the Scotia Bank Stage on
Canada day, the band has previously played with The
Elected and Great Lake Swimmers.
Gathering the reputation of having an energetic
live show, The Playing Cards are continuing to
write, record and play live while loving every
minute of it.
