█ █▓░█ Early endorsements from the likes of Noel Gallagher █░▓█ █
█ █▓░█ led to the band briefly becoming kings of the █░▓█ █
█ █▓░█ emerging New Acoustic Movement in Britain, alongside █░▓█ █
█ █▓░█ the likes of Turin Brakes and Coldplay. But after the █░▓█ █
█ █▓░█ popularity of 1999Æs The Man Who (over two million █░▓█ █
█ █▓░█ sales in one year) the band found themselves feeling █░▓█ █
█ █▓░█ intimidated by their own success. █░▓█ █
█ █▓░█ █░▓█ █
█ █▓░█ It took a freak accident (drummer Neil Primrose ended █░▓█ █
█ █▓░█ up breaking his neck after a bodged swimming pool █░▓█ █
█ █▓░█ dive) to force the band to re-evaluate their █░▓█ █
█ █▓░█ situation. After Primrose had made a full recovery, █░▓█ █
█ █▓░█ Travis regrouped and released 12 Memories (2003). █░▓█ █
█ █▓░█ Much darker than their earlier efforts, the album █░▓█ █
█ █▓░█ included songs about domestic abuse and the Iraq war. █░▓█ █
█ █▓░█ █░▓█ █
█ █▓░█ 2007 has seen the band sounding much chirpier, █░▓█ █
█ █▓░█ though. Latest album The Boy with No Name is brimming █░▓█ █
█ █▓░█ with breathy, melodic tunes. Recorded in part by █░▓█ █
█ █▓░█ Brian Eno, the album has seen the band reaffirm their █░▓█ █
█ █▓░█ status as ScotlandÆs premier grown-up rockers. Live █░▓█ █

█ █▓░█ stage, while a pre-Pogues Shane MacGowan had part of █░▓█ █

█ █▓░█ Other notable events include obscure German band █░▓█ █
█ █▓░█ Einstⁿrzende Neubauten attempting to leave the stage █░▓█ █
█ █▓░█ by drilling a hole in it, and the Sonic Mook █░▓█ █
█ █▓░█ Experiment in 2002, which invigorated the raw energy █░▓█ █
