Release Notes:

Republic of Loose are an Irish band, based in
Dublin. Led by Mick Pyro, they have so far released
two albums - 2004's This is the Tomb of the Juice
and 2006's Aaagh!.

They are influenced by numerous American music
genres of the last century, often coming across as
being unsure whether they want to be gangbangers or
cowboys or gospel singers. Their sound has been
described as sleazy-funky, and their debut This is
the Tomb of the Juice combines sexy, easi-fitting
lounge, guitar groove and rap influences.

Their second album, Aaagh! was released on April 7
2006. It debuted at #2 on the Irish charts. Singles
"Comeback Girl", "You Know It" and "Shame" are
typical of their genre straddling production style;
sweet slices of sex-pop, with the innuendo-laden
lyrics, smart guitar hooks and the loping drum
sounds the band is becoming known for.

A recent American tour has brought a whole new
audience to the band, with the latest single, a
double A-Side featuring "Break" and "The
Translation", receiving airplay in the US. "Break"
features ex-Chicks singer, Isabel Reyes Feeney, on
vocals.

The band have previously supported Ian Brown, Snow
Patrol, Alabama 3, Fun Lovin' Criminals, The
Thrills, The Neville Brothers, The Zutons, Scissor
Sisters and The Roots.

Gary Lightbody, of Snow Patrol, has been quoted
saying that "These guys are amazing, they are going
to be huge!"'

The chant "Loose! Loose! Loose! Loose! Loose!" is
commonly heard at their concerts.
