Chow ChowÆs debut album showcases an immense
potential from a unique band. Having totally
absorbed their influences, Chow Chow demonstrate a
knowledge and a level of creativity rarely found.
TheyÆre musically adventurous and operate outside of
the space so many are in at the moment.
From the driving æSkelton With HairÆ to the rolling,
ragged glory of æBright æLightsÆ and to the
monumental æMetallica (Early)Æ and ending with the
epic æSit Down SynthÆ, Chow Chow encapsulate an
unpretentious, exciting sound.
Chow Chow is the result of the coming together of
three unique individuals û Iain
(vocals/guitar/electronics), Stu
(bass/vocals/electronics) and Nathan (drums/vocals).
Iain was born in Wales and fled to Edmonton, Canada
when he was young. Stu is Edmonton through and
through and he met Iain at high school there - when,
as Stu puts it, he was ædancing like MC Hammer in
our high school cafeteriaÆ. They moved to London in
2002 and while Iain came over to play music and meet
some interesting people, Stu had the intention of
becoming a full-time happy hardcore DJ but things
turned out slightly differently. The rave sceneÆs
loss appears to be the rock sceneÆs gain. Drummer
Nathan came over from New Zealand having flipped a
coin and decided to come to London for a look
around. It was a good call when their paths crossed
and they began recording together.
Chow Chow have recently toured with!!! and Apples In
Stereo. They will be touring in the UK during the
summer and will be making appearances at Wireless
and Reading Festivals.
CHOW CHOWÆs debut album ôColours And Linesö was
recorded in London with producer Gareth Parton (Go
Team, Pipettes).
