One of the best collections of funky porno grooves
we've ever heard -- a really well-done compilation
that gets past the kitsch and sleeze to find the
tightest, funkiest tunes from this unique 70s
soundtrack subgenre! The focus here is mostly on the
music -- and there's loads of great numbers awash in
heavy keyboards, wah wah guitars, and deeply groovy
rhythms -- most of which present their funk with a
nice sort of polish and well-crafted groove -- one
that comes across with a sound that's somewhere
between mainstream work on the CTI/Kudu jazz labels,
and some of the hipper 70s sound library recordings on
labels like De Wolfe or KPM. No surprise, there's
actually a number of classic sound library funk giants
in the mix here -- further ensuring that the music
here is all top-shelf, and not just some quickie
knockoffs for the porno industry!
