Release Notes:
Kevin Michael is a 22 year old vocal prodigy from
Philadelphia with an incredible voice and persona. His
influences include Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson and
Prince. Kevin was featured on The Roots recent
greatest hits album, Home Grown! Kevin has a unique
voice and style all his own, though like Gnarls
Barkley, his music has a broad-based appeal to the
urban and pop communities.
Kevin could garner comparisons to a young, Off The
Wall-ear Michael Jackson, a rule-breaking innovator
like Prince or a classic soul crooner like Curtis
Mayfield, but he is definitely on his own trip.
Especially when he plays live where he is accompanied
by Akil Dasan, a BET freestyle champion who plays
acoustic guitar, beat-boxes and raps.
The irresistibly melodic head-bopping standout "We All
Want The Same Thing" introduces Michael to the masses
and pairs him with the talented MC Lupe Fiasco.
Another pick, the spare and intimate "It Don't Make
Any Difference" features his partner in crime, Akil
Dasan. In addition to Lupe, the full-length album will
feature guest appearances by Q-Tip and Wyclef Jean and
production work by urban producers including Wyclef
Jean, LRoc (Lil Jon, Mariah Carey), Bloodshy (Madonna)
