"Rough Trade Shops - Counter Culture 2002"
Featuring over 40 tracks, the "Rough Trade Shops: Counter
Culture [2002]" compilation captures perfectly a brilliant
year for music and includes tracks by the likes of Yeah Yeah
Yeahs, ESG, Crossover, Bright Eyes, Pink Grease, Soul Center
and Akufens remix of Cabaret Voltaires classic "Nag, Nag
Nag".
The brainchild of Geoff Travis, the first Rough Trade shop
opened on Kensington Park Road in West London in February
1976. The next few years saw the shop expand to form the
Rough Trade record label and subsequently Rough Trade
distribution. All have been vital to the worldwide
development of the independent music scene.
