Disorder and harmony survive in a symbiotic relationship essential to
the balance of existence. With the conclusion of this association, anything
related to will no longer prosper. Choosing one over the other is the
message the band communicates through music. Entropys End formed
as Rick Griesbaum (Vocals / Guitar), Dave McGarry (Drums / Vocals),
and Josh Anthony (Bass)during the fall of 2004 in rural Bradford, PA.
Entropys End is focused on creating a new rock / alternative sound with
mainstream appeal. Growing up with the hard rock of the 80s, the band
builds on a strong foundation of prominent lead vocals and harmonized
guitars reminiscent of Metallica, Iron Maiden, and Def Leppard. The band
comprises elements that resemble many of todays top artists including
Yellowcard, Jimmy Eat World, Queens of the Stone Age, My Chemical
Romance, Thrice, Bayside, and Alkaline Trio.
The band has established an extensive following becoming their regions
top original act. During the spring of 2005 Entropys End was selected to
perform at the New York International Music Festival in New York City.
At the festival, Dave McGarry was awarded with the specialized musician
award in drumming. They have progressed to the national scene by sharing
the stage with Dope, The Juliana Theory, Five Bolt Main, A New Revolution,
Bobaflex, Triggerpoint, Erase The Grey, Bleed The Sky, and the 2005 Zippo
Hot Tour winner Jealousy Curve.
Recently the band finished their debut EP Rise or Fall to satisfy the demands
of an increasing fan base. The album was completed at Starfields Recording
Studio in Buffalo, NY during a short recess from live performances. Songs on the
disc tell the story of a man raising a family who is faced with the consequences of
poor decision making. Opening with the first single The Gun, the tale begins with a
desperate man who is ruined by his wives constant lack of commitment. With no
alternative solution at hand, the distraught husband murders his wife in a rage he soon
regrets as described in the second track titled Rise or Fall. The severity and desperation
of the situation is finally understood in the song Lost Touch. While the man is
awaiting trial he comes to realize that he cannot survive without the daughter who
has become his only reason for living. After escaping from his incarceration to an
existence of exile the man takes his own life in the final song Cut The Cord after
realizing that the family he destroyed was more precious to him then his own life.
With the release of the album, Entropys End will spread their music with an
upcoming national tour.
