Release Notes: ░██▓
██▒
Today's Mathematics eponymous debut is an organic, ██░
slow-burning poetic voyage through jazz, soul-funk, hippy ██
rock and hip-hop. The album is a musical meeting of the ██
minds between space-jazz head Cousin J and hip hop junkie ██
Testament (Homecut Directive). The influences are disparate; ██
kind of Sun-Ra meets Mos Def, wrapped up in a hefty slice of ██
modern British soul. Four years ago Cousin J ran into ██
Testament in the back of a jazz club and the music began. ██
And with the late addition of vocalist Shaheen, Today's ██
Mathematics was born. ██
██
The record is a gorgeous mix of styles; from the deep, ██
textured trip hop of "Homecoming" to the languid, intense ██
soul of "Jesus loves You". The album charts a spiritual ██
journey through the chaos of life using the trademark sound ██
that we call "prophetic soul". ██

They Say: ██
██
"This slow burning debut is a refreshing step outside the ██
mainstream." - Graeme Bent, Hip Hop Connection ██
██
"One great deep soulful daydream" - Straight No Chaser ██
██
"Great honest music played from the heart" - Nostalgia 77 ██
██
Kinda missed this one, laid back nu-jazzy trip-hop. Enjoy ██
