Fire, uncontained, may burn brightly and yet all-too
briefly. But water will always find its own way. And itÆs
this element that characterizes the attitude of
Stuttgarts electronic label Meerestief: Everything must
be allowed to flow. From its beginnings as a wild,
white-water ride, Meerestief has evolved over time to
become a broad river with a powerful undercurrents.
Weather-tested and critically respected, Meerestief now
contributes to such treasures as the recent Time Warp mix
cd by Loco Dice.
The very first label compilation to sail under the
Meerestief flag is entitled 'Wassermusik'. This combines
current favourites with as-yet-unreleased material and
the recent choices of label owners Walter Ercolino and
Daniela Stickroth.
In-house tracks such as 'Ronan's BBQ' (Xhin rmx) by Five
Green Circle, Kabale & LiebeÆs æSimplossibleÆ (Pheek rmx)
and James Whats Follicle sit alongside the work of
Stickroth & Ercolino themselves. These in turn are
stirred skillfully into cuts and remixes by Steve Bug,
Extrawelt, Ripperton, Minilogue, Martin Landsky and Miss
Yetti to form a very special water wonderland.
