Release Notes:
Formed in 2004 The Cloud Room are J on guitar and
vocals, bassist Jonathan Petrow, Jason Pharr on
drums, guitarist David H and keys played by Steve
Milton. Released on 1st October is the irresistible
debut single Hey Now Now. With their name taken from
the speakeasy at the top of the Chrysler Building
during American Prohibition, they are already the
buzz band Stateside through college radio and music
blog adoration; their self-titled album is released
8th October.

To be released on limited edition 7ÆÆ and download,
J wrote Hey Now Now in the winter of 2004. With
increasingly difficult and unidentified symptoms
over a three-month period, his doctor suggested he
take a HIV test. The results came back positive. As
is procedure, a second test was conducted. This also
coincided with the doctorÆs 3 week holiday. So with
the results locked in the doctorÆs surgery, J locked
himself in his room for 18 days. After experiencing
pretty much the entire spectrum of human emotion in
the initial two weeks, he picked up his guitar and
out came the melody and the ôHey now now, we going
down downàö lyric. He recorded this initial idea
onto his answering machine. On the doctorÆs return J
took the bus back to the surgery to hear the words
ôYouÆre fine. It was a false positive.ö He broke
down there and then, the worst weeks of his life
turned in an instant to become the single greatest
moment of his life. ôI wanted to somehow bottle that
searing joyö. He took the melody idea that he had
recorded and turned it into Hey Now Now.

Such is the underground hysteria of Hey Now Now, it
came to attention of Pepsi who have taken up the
song and made The Cloud Room the first ever unsigned
band to have their work featured in an international
campaign. Featuring Barcelona and Brazil star
Ronaldinho, the new Pepsi Max campaign ran briefly
at the end of the last football season and returns
to our screens for the start of the new 2007/8
season in August.
The rest of the album is equal to Hey Now Now with
tracks like Blackout!, Waterfall and Sunlight Song
displaying The Cloud Room's ability to write every
bit as good as Bowie or Roy Orbison, create lyrical
content akin to Leonard Cohen or experimental
soundscape ideas that could have been masterminded
by Syd Barrett or Brian Eno, all of whom they count
among their influences. The A&G release includes 2
special bonus tracks for the UK.
The Cloud Room have already toured with some of the
most successful UK and international acts including
Muse, Editors and Norah Jones. A headline UK tour
for October is to be announced very soon.
