Release Notes:
The debut from Salt Lake City atmospheric noise
making kings I Hear Sirens explodes with a huge
sounding intro to the world of kaleidoscope rock.
With the very first notes played the listener is
instantly taken on a journey of epic proportions,
ala post world, apocalyptic, warfare style.
While listening to this album û which I recommend
the whole way through with headphones on, or driving
down a deserted freeway late at night, one becomes
full of images of both light and darkness. No this
is not a sappy indie space-rock album by any means,
instead it tends to lift one up, and I like this
because so many bands tend to leave the listener
with nothing more than an empty cup of half written
songs. The drumming takes on a life of it's own,
bringing to mind the drummer of the great Cave-In,
the bass is wielded as if it were the lead axe in a
battle to save the last notes from not being
remembered - I really like the style, keys and
sounds are placed expertly throughout and add a nice
dimension to the whole affect of the album. But in
the end it's the brave and fiesty lead guitar that
takes center stage and sweeps it's way from scene to
paramount scene.
I was thrilled to hear vocals on the third song,
which were surprisingly wonderful and reminded me of
the intro to Elliott's album Flase Cathedral's, they
fit the whole album perfectly and I found myself
hitting the rewind button over and over again û it's
that good. I wish they would do more of this vocal
thing.s
