Release Notes:

We can reveal that Prefuse 73 is back with a new
album set to drop late October. Preparations will
give fans a subtle taste of every Prefuse record
that has come before, whilst still exploring and
pushing these trademark sounds further for 2007.

2002's One Word Extinguisher and Extinguished
Outtakes were landmarks, rippling with production
that's since been infinitely copied. 2005's
Surrounded By Silence was a collaborative milestone
teaming Prefuse with Ghostface, GZA, Battles'
Tyondai Braxton and The Books, a lofty, exciting
musical foray. Now here's another Prefuse 73
speciality, the sure shot.

The first single from Preparations features a
collaboration with New York wall-of-psych band
School Of Seven Bells and Battles drummer John
Stanier. Class of 73 Bells swirls with undeniable
pop melodies grounded by Prefuse's stereo-rattling
low-end while Smoking Red takes Stanier's punishing
drums and uses them to carve out a fierce hip-hop
banger.
