The boxed brothers bring us another classic
Global Underground album, this one letting
us in on some of John Digweed's sounds after
a recent stint in Hong Kong. This is
Digger's second Global Underground album,
the first one being 'Live in Sydney'. Now
three years later, Digger has changed a bit.
He's every bit as brilliant, but now darker,
smoother, and sexier. The music isn't called
TRANCE for nothing - John Digweed will
hypnotize you right into a trance.
Technically, they're calling John Digweed's
music 'progressive house' these days, but to
me, as I see it, this is trance. Or this is
what we SHOULD call trance. John Digweed has
got it mastered. His slick, deep, enticing
grooves suck you in to a whole new world,
and you're crazy not to dance. The second
disc of this album is, in my view, the
stronger effort of the two. Your speakers
will rumble and glide through Digger's
twisted world of base and melody, rhythm and
timing. Listening to John Digweed is fun for
your mind - he makes you think, he pulls you
in, he challenges you to let go for a bit.
Don't plan on reading with this album in the
background. Rather, turn the lights down,
take a few deep breaths, start the album and
let your mind wander. You'll find it's
relaxing and enjoyable, and you'll quickly
realize how compelling and deep the music
can be. But don't take my word for it. Get
the album now. If you love trance, if you
love electronic music, if you're looking for
something different than the fluffy anthems
being played over and over again, look to
John Digweed to take you to that next level.
And if he ever rolls through your town, be
