The Shocking Pinks are a band formed by Nick Harte and based
in Christchurch, New Zealand.
Nick Harte has previously been in New Zealand bands such as
The Incisions, Montessouri, Laudanum, The Urinators, Solaa,
The Brunettes and Pig Out. Recently the band has been signed
to New York City based record label DFA Records. The band
will release a self-titled album on DFA in September 2007,
which will be a comilation of tracks from the previous two
releases "Mathematical Warfare" and "Infinity Land".[1]
Preceeding the album release a series of vinyl singles were
released, beggining with the track "Smoke Screen" featuring
a remix by The Glimmers.[2] The first wide release single by
Shocking Pinks will be "End of the World" on October 15[3]
