Time for something a little special. Unbelievably juicy track from
way back as famously sampled by Danny Wang for Balihu 001. To hell
with that, though, just listen to the original!

SLEEQUE, the singing duo comprised of ADRIENNE GARRETT and INEZ
BROWN, was formed in 1985 when they separately answered an ad for
an audition for a recording opportunity with Don Casale. They
didn't know each other at the time, but by the end of the audition,
it was like they were singing together for years. From the forty or
more who tried out, only Adrienne and Inez were signed and Sleeque
was started. Adrienne is a graduate of Five Towns College on Long
Island with an associate's degree in Contemporary Music. Along with
singing, she plays guitar and piano and writes songs between club
dates and acting classes. She has been part of Evelyn Neinken's
Actor's Workshop as well as a member of Steve Carter's Negro
Ensemble Co. Playwright's Workshop. Her club dates include such
venues as Folk City, The Other End, Chilies, Kenny's Castaways,
Goodtimes and The Duplex. Adrienne sings lead as well as back-up
vocals and is often hired to sing for other
artists on various recording sessions.
Inez also sings lead and back-up and performs on recording sessions
for other artists. She studied music theory at Queens College in
New York as well as drama, acting and dance and has taken private
voice lessons since she was quite young. Her club date experience
is extensive and she performs occasionally with the top oldies
group The Marvelettes where she is called upon to sing both lead
and back-up. Inez was a featured artist for West End Records in NYC
and a lead vocalist for the very popular tri-state area group,
LovLace, where besides singing, she was choreographer and part
owner. She has also toured with and was lead female vocalist for
the top-ten recording act, Gary Toms Empire.
