Sistema (Manel Ruiz) and Marc Frigolas new label (Neue
Laermklassiker) gets started with HumoEp.This is the
first twelve inch from Barcelona based producer Sistema,
who has already worked with Minifunk rec., Green Series,
and mostly with Factor city rec, where he has had a home
for the past few years. The first track on the EP; Liar,
is a well textured almost grainy track where the main
melody line carries the track all throughout. The second
track, which lends its name to the Ep, Humo, is deep and
melodic, and fuses IDM sounds with syncopated rhythms.
This track is true to the style of Sistemas 100cia
project, and is a delicate shuffle full of emotions where
Sistemas musical background comes to light. German artist
Douglas Greed (Combination rec, Freude-am-Tanzen rec,
Click & Cut..) is in charge of transforming the original
Humo with all his creative talent. He turns the songs
shuffle into a dark, profound, and very rhythmically
alive ô4/4, while capturing the essence of the original.
He once again proves that he is an expert when it comes
to creating complex rhythms, with an air of a Boards of
Canada track, just as he did on his Lopez Ep on
Combination rec.
