monday michiru, japanese not-so-underground singer but undoubtely
one of the main vocalists in the nu-jazz japanese scene, gets some
tracks from her previous album reworked by some of the best
producers around at the moment.
first we have the omnipresent masters at work giving their usual
deep house interpretation of 'sunshine after the rain', though not
up to their usual production standards, in my opinion.
chris brann is next on the list. under his ananda project moniker,
the genius behind other projects like p'taah and wandue project
also chooses a 4/4 house pattern in two excellent reworks of the
track 'mysteries of life'. now that's deep, dubby & excellent
house!
last but definitely not the least, the mighty west london genius ig
culture gives the broken treatment to 'chasing after the sun' under
a new guise that goes by the name 'banda black lero'. with quirky
sound effects and filters applied to the vocals, a storming bass
and a never-ending jazzy grooviness, don't get too near the
speakers when you play this! these are firing beats that will get
