an album that has monday michiru returning to her jazz funk
"roots", and singing with a band that plays live throughout, with
no overdubs or samples. the band is a tight collective of young
japanese players, and they get a good hard sound that's
reminiscent of the playing on the early brand new heavies lps. of
course, monday sings in the deep soulful style that she always
brings to these sessions, and the set includes loads of great cuts
like "tattoo my heart", "will you love me tomorrow",
"conversations with myself", "nadir", and "to live as to dream".
great stuff, and one of the best acid jazz lps to come out in the
last decade!
