One of the prime producers of soulful house music with an edge
(granted he's from Detroit), Terrence Parker started out a hip-hop
DJ but later blended a wealth of influences (from techno, soul,
disco, jazz and even downtempo) to give his recordings a unique
flavor midway between hands-in-the-air house and the more sublime
sound of Detroit techno.
Double header on his own label with the first release of two tracks
that would later feature on TPs !K7 debut. "Emancipation" is a big
piano-led mover and "Track 4 O.J." on the flip works one of dem
early Belgian riffs against a hard percussive backdrop (it also
appeared on INT 001 "Intangible Benelux" released in 1996).
