In 2007 TIEFSCHWARZ aka ALI and BASTI SCHWARZ celebrate 10 years, not
only on the decks but as a producers too. They have residencies at
Robert Johnson in Frankfurt, Weekend Club in Berlin and Fabric in
London to name but a few, and have remixed the likes of The Rapture,
Madonna, Depeche Mode, Osunlade, Minimal Compact, Trueby Trio, Kelis,
Roxy Music, Alter Ego, Booka Shade and many more. But this time its
TIEFSCHWARZ's turn to hand over the parts and let some masters work
the remix treatment on their own production. None other than CARL
CRAIG has remixed the TIEFSCHWARZ track Original exclusively for this
single on Souvenir. Surely the most sought after remix artist of the
moment, the man from Detroit, aka C2, turned the most rocking tune of
their album "Eat Books" into an absolute club burner. "How does it
sound without a sound?" asks a voice as CC takes the tune into his
signature synth break. It's nothing less than another phenomenally
deep and dark minded-trip from the Detroit Master. Next up are
TIEFSCHWARZ's Stuttgart homeboys the TURNTABLEROCKER aka THOMAS
BURCHIA and MICHI BECK from fellow Four Music recording artists DIE
FANTASTISCHEN VIER. They add a nice little shuffle step to the
kicking beat and fill their No More Trouble mix with plenty of breaks
but never let the track lose its momentum. In doing so,
TURNTABLEROCKER add the extra vibe to what is an essentially deep
house groove. The vocals are reduced to "one...two" and this mix
certainly has a rhythmic trancelike quality to it. The DRAMA SOCIETY
remix lets more electronic sounds seep through between the beats.
This highly acclaimed Italian duo make use of some interesting
ambient sounds and dissonance to set quite a unique vibe in their
remix. It's the perfect closing track to the single and although its
probably the most experimental of the three remixes contained on the
12", it would still not be out of place played out on any dance
floor. This is already the 6th release on TIEFSCHWARZ' own Berlin
remember to support artists.
