Heavily roadtested by Greg Wilson in recent months, this
doubleheader of disco-funk re-edits is in the same tradition of his
legendary reel-to-reel mixes, extending the groove to the release
point where the repetition ends, becoming the defining moment of a
track. Blondie's "Rapture" was always an untouchable edifice in my
book, but after hearing this I'm gonna have to re-think my belief
system. The 6MS version overclocks THAT bassline until you can
hardly take anymore, keeps it going just a little longer and then
casually merges back with the song. And did I forget to mention the
mind-altering special FX? As for Cameo's "Serious", well flip me if
it isn't actually better, cooler and extremely funkier than the
original.
