After his release on Deep Focus last summer and his 12" on Pickadoll
the Swedish artist Harald Bjork is now boosting his career as a
recording artist with his upcoming Traum release "Brus".
Bjork's music is melodic, adventurous and modern and so we see music
here in its pure and relentless nature. His influences range from
rock music to punk to contemporary electronic music. You could
compare him with Nathan Fake in a way, since he is also interested
in shaping emotional and melodic music in a new and unfamiliar way.
Bjork's 12" on Traum "Brus" holds two sides, the title song "Brus"
and the flip side"Luftlust". "Brus" is a voyage through levels of
melodies all interacting and challenging. The track starts with a
weird beat and then works itself towards a 4/4 beat and clubby
parameters alongside a fantastic "melodic highway".
The b side track "Luftlust" turns towards a clubby more straight
path, incorporating elements of trance music with techno house.
Compressors pumping a rhythm into the strings which make the track
breathe hard! A real techno tool!
