DJ Pacou acquired his musical inspiration from techno &
house radio transmissions from West Berlin during the late
80's. Listening from the other side of the Berlin Wall,
Pacou was breaking the law: receiving culture the East
German government could not keep from it's people.
Immediately after the Wall fell in 1991, Pacou divulged in
West Berlin's growing techno atmosphere by viciously
trainspotting and DJ'ing parties. Equipment purchases
followed and an eventual Tresor club DJ residency. With an
affect for underground legends Basic Channel, Todd Terry,
and Jeff Mills, Pacou's own work stands on its own;
uniquely wrapping abstract sequences around choppy
percussion to very contagious effect. Pacou is living
proof that techno is uncontainable.
