- Release Notes ------------------------------------------------------------- -
Our decision to make this EP was easy. We had a collection of seven songs
that we wrote while writing and touring from 2005 to 2007. These songs were
different... so different we weren't sure they would flow in the context of
our next record. Some of the songs were written through some pretty hard
times on the road, and subsequently their content is about dealing with the
sacrifices we've needed to make in order to pursue our goals. They had more
truth than sugar, more human than animal . The songs also seemed to sound
better acoustic and raw, without the layers and tuning of a big production,
because that was how they were written. In order to do these songs justice in
the context of an album, it made sense to put them next to each other under
the same production. So on April 23rd, 2007 we entered Red Room Studios in
our hometown of Seattle and recorded these seven songs. Our motivation was
simple: Firstly, to give our fans and friends something new, honest, and
different, and Secondly, to perk the ears of listeners who may not know who
we are and who might be predisposed to blues, folk and indie pop music. We
named the EP "Seattle Sessions"because it was recorded in Seattle within
seven studio sessions. We hope you enjoy it and pick up your copy on November
6th!
This is not just music. This is hope. This is not just a band. This is a
mission. This is an attempt to fill the void for a generation feeling
detached, overlooked and phenomenally misunderstood. Dig deep and find
yourself in the lyrics and vibes The Classic Crime takes you on a journey
through pain and redemption, leaving the searching soul with hope for
something better. This is an invitation...
Enjoy!
