Baroque grooves from 70s Brazil -- a really wonderful album of work
by Salinas, known to more ears for his later funky tunes, but
sounding pretty darn great on this record as well! The album's a
blend of samba rhythms and some of the more baroque production
styles of the Blue Brazil/Odeon generation -- done with chorus
vocals on most tracks, but a more important focus on the rhythms
and keyboard work -- the latter of which really makes the album
cook! Many tunes have this great compressed organ sound -- kind of
a 70s take on the 60s sound of Walter Wanderley -- set to
arrangements that really make the most of the style! Titles in
clude "Implorar", "Segredo", "A Morte Do Amor", "Tengo Tengo",
"Deus Me Perdue", and "A Moca Branca Da Favela". (These CDs are
copy protected.)
