DA Posse was formed by Hula, K Fingers, Martell and Maurice. Their
early tracks like 'In The Life' were mostly based on old Rhythm Is
Rhythm records, but 'Searchin Hard', a deep house song on Dance
Mania records led them to a deal with Dave Lee's Republic Records,
for whom they eventually recorded an excellent album. Later the
core members Hula and Fingers formed their own label, Clubhouse
Records which became an essential part of underground house history
fostering talents like Cajmere, Lidell Townsell, Ron Trent and
Braxton.
DA Rebels were the team of Cajmere and Townsell. In their 4 EPs
for Clubhouse they created the essence of the label sound taking
influences from the U.K. and Europe into the classic Chi-town
matrix.
Here's the third EP including their NYC flavoured "Love Is The Message".
