WOW! A very impressive debut release from this new
label! Favorita's brilliant self-titled album is an
explosion of noise and color that was recorded
twelve years ago! The group was poised for success
having released two killer singles, a brilliant
album in the can, and a Scandinavian tour with Pulp
under their belts. The band featured Magnus
Borjeson who currently fronts Metro Jets, but is
best known in power pop circles from his time in
early 90's fronting power pop band Beagle. Their
indie label was then dropped by its parent company,
and it imploded, taking their future with it. The
band subsequently split and the album had been
forgotten...until now! Solid from start to finish
- 19 tracks - the entire unreleased 12-song album
plus single b-sides and alternate versions! A
posthumous release done the right way! "Their
sound, for the most part, only bears a passing
resemblance to the sparkling, harmony-filled pop of
Beagle, rather favoring a quirkier, modern rock
style but without ever sacrificing an ounce of
melodic integrity. It's really great stuff, and
both Magnus and the band are highly dynamic!" -
